Hi, I'm Jeremy. I help people find ideas.

My obsession: The Aworkening Movement

My story:

Some of the best discoveries in life happened by accident. Kellogg's Cereal, Post It Notes, even Potato Chips were accidental discoveries. That's how I feel about The Aworkening.

My first job out of high school was working for an industrial knife factory. I used to get paid $12 per hour to sharpen textile-shearing knives. I thought it was a “safe job”. A “good paying job”. I hated it, but thought that’s all there was. And one day I met someone with no degree, who worked 20 hours per week, earning $100k per year designing dental prosthesis out of his garage.

Wait a second.

You don’t have to be a doctor or lawyer to make that kind of money? You don’t have to work 50 hours per week to make a good living? You don’t have to work out of a factory or office? Not everyone hates their job? How can that be?I had to find answers to these questions. And that’s exactly what I found. I discovered people who designed work that worked for their lives. Sometimes it’s a better job doing something that’s fulfilling and profitable. Sometimes it’s a side hustle that has flexibility and growth potential. Sometimes it’s a work from home gig or consulting work. Sometimes it’s an online business or blog. Sometimes it’s an invention or product idea.

All of these types of new and creative work options - options that may not have even existed 10 years ago, are happening now more than ever. They’re everywhere. People like Pat Flynn, John Lee Dumas, Amy Porterfield, Dan Miller, Nick Loper, Chris Guillebeau, and many others are showing us a new way of looking at work. And many of us, including me, have opened our eyes to a new world of work options. We are awake. We have experienced an Aworkening.

If you need an idea, hate your job, or want to find meaningful work send a message to me here on thinkspot and let me know how I can help. That's what I'm here for.
