About the Speakers

Dr. Stephen Hicks

Prof. Stephen Hicks is a Canadian-American philosopher who teaches at Rockford University, Illinois, is the Director of the Center for Ethics and Entrepreneurship and is the Senior Scholar for the Atlas Society and has lectured world-wide.

Prof. Hicks is well known for his expertise in demystifying postmodernist ideology and is growing in international acclaim for his approachable and solutions-driven lectures. He specializes in modern European philosophy and politics, and has written extensively on Kant and Marx, including in his two books, Explaining Postmodernism: Skepticism and Socialism from Rousseau to Foucault and Nietzsche and the Nazis.

Gloria Alvarez

An international best-selling author, Gloria Alvarez is a Guatemalan Political Scientist with special focus in International Development and Economics and has spoken at more than 250 conferences in her young life.


Gloria has become the benchmark leader for a new generation looking for unique ways of contributing to politics. The renowned journalist, Jorge Ramos, introduced her as "the future president of Guatemala."
